Group 18 Animatic

Clip 1.
Clip 1 is an animatic of our chrous where the lyrics start off with the words 'enter', for each new line of enter, the box spins around for a new person to sing, we have used this transaction as it fits in well with the song, its different and an interesting transaction to use and also looks very effective, but is simple to use.we will also change our outfits every time we appear in the box when it spins around to a new person.

Clip 2.
Clip 2 is mostly all of our music video although we haven't added cutaways and some of the chorus, in this animatic we have tried to show as many different uses we can in final express, as you can see we have used tracking in many different ways, but in our real video we are going to use alot of different shots that aren't shown in this animatic, we will also get as many cutaways as we can to make the video more interesting.

Outfit ideas

Sex and the City came to mind when we were discussing outfits we could wear during the music video. We are going to find and wear several different outfits each so that our look does not get boring trough the duration of the song.

Ideas for Bootytown (emphasis on 'town')

The idea of walking around town and recording a range of different shots is going to be part of the main video as we are going to take the title of the song literally and focus on making a fun upbeat music video. The theme of the song is going to be the classic girls vs boy concept.

Pick one of last year’s Long Road Music Videos and post it onto your blog with comments about camera/editing/setting/performance/genre conventions

Camera shots in this music video are quite varied with lots of close up and mid shots. Also another good techinique they have used is to keep the camera moving via tracking and panning techniques as well as the characters singing in the music video also moving around and expressing the lyrics through body language and facial expressions.

Editing is kept sharp and in beat with the pace of the music. Shots are short and snappy especially during the chorus where no lyrics are sang. Cut aways are also made of good use in this music video to break up the shots of the singer; who is the main focus of the song.

Settings in the music video are kept to a minimum but for this song it seems to work quite well as the shots and camera work are varied and it seems alot of thought has gone into camera angles, techniques ect. Also the few locations you do see in the video seem to have a relavence to the mood of the lyrics and sounds of the song.

The performance in this music video is very good, there is one main character(the solo singer) whos performance is particularly good. You can tell alot of effort has gone into planning what outfits to where and what gestures to make. The lip sinking is also in tune with the song.

The genre of this particular music video is pop. It is a typical chick flick song generally aimed at teh female audience. The video that this group has managed to produce fits the mood and atmosphere of the song, which is happy, upbeat and delicate.

Haley Bennett - Entering Bootytown Lyrics

(laughs)
(laughs)

You've tried every trick in the book
To get that boy to look
And still the road is dark and dim

If love's just not on his map
It could be right in his lap
And still it won’t get through to him

Wise up, girl
Boys only pay attention when they see the sign that says

CHORUS:
Entering Bootytown
So she got booty now
'Cause your booty is the way into his heart
Girl, don't you realise
One detour at your thighs
Is a right turn that can break his world apart

You've been here with him before
But he just closes the door
And says, "We're better off as friends."
Tonight he'd better beware
There's somethin' hot in the air
Your wait is coming to an end

No rules now
Gonna use every weapon till he knows he's crossed that line.
And he is…

Chorus...

Enter, enter...
Enter, enter...
Enter, enter...
Entrez-vous (french accent)

Enter, enter...
Ahh, ahh
Entrez vous

No rules now
Gonna use every weapon till he knows he's crossed the line.

He is…

Chorus...2x
